At KSC we offer both open and freestyle boarding sessions for members who want to get some practice in. Check our weekly programme for times and our fees page for current fees.

Although the club is formerly in the closed season snowboard riding is still available at the normal times until April 18th.  After this date the slope will be open every Sunday 6pm until 9pm until K-Jam on Sunday 30th May 2010.

When Kendal's slope was rebuilt using Snowflex, the club was quick to use the opportunity to incorporate purpose-built features for freestyle into the slope. This was very good news for the upcoming snowboard scene, and has allowed Kendal to produce riders of a very high standard, some of who have gone on to represent Kendal on the Orange AIM UK freestyle series and pick up sponsorship from the industry.

We have a bowl up in the top corner which ends in a mini quarter pipe, next to that is the main kicker, recently re-shaped and matched to a new, steeper landing area which provides softer landings no matter how big you go! A mini kicker is alongside for those of you who want to ease in to jumping. Further down the slope a set of doubles provide an opportunity to get two lots of air in one run, and a full mogul set runs down the other side for those of that persuasion. Across on the new extension we have various sculpted terrain which is a superb aid to riding the undulations similar to a real piste (or more chances to get air on freestyle sessions)! Also new for last year was the monster rail, strictly for experts only. More variations on this theme to follow!

Instruction

Down on the bottom half, we now have loads of space for our qualified instructors to run their lessons, providing the all-important basic tuition required to progress to greater things. Our boarding lessons are very popular but you must pre-book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
